Established in 1998, by its founder Hon. chairman late.Raikumar B.Gujar alias Dadaji and Hon. secretary late Sahebrao Shankarrao Dhamdhere alies Anna and their honuorable staunch contemporary supporters, Shikshan Prasarak Mandal’s Sahebrao Shankarrao Dhamdhere Arts and Commerce college provided an opportunity of the higher education to the boys and girls in and around TalegaonDhamdhere.

Since its inception, the institute has rapidly grown both quantitatively and qualitatively through its bar raising achievements every year. Its quantitative growth is quite perceptible from its gradual and consistent growth of the strength of the students and its infrastructural facilities. The college which had the strength of 120 students initially, has now around 550 students who are having education in Arts and Commerce streams including B.B.A.(C.A.)course, affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University. Initially, Shikshan Prasarak Mandal’s School housed the college, but soon over a period of some years, it has created its own magnificent two-storeyed building with a well equipped computer laboratory, exhaustive library and rich sports department to cater to the needs of the students.

The college buildings with all their infrastructural facilities such as spacious and airy class rooms, reading room, e-resources, gymnasium, ladies and Gents washrooms, staff room, Administrative office, Computer Laboratory and the sizeable playground have sprawled over the institute’s extensive land of around nine acres. Away from the hustle and bustle of city life, against the backdrop off luxuriant rustic charm, the college infrastructure provides teachers and students an academic, idyllic and salubrious ambience which make teaching-learning process a pleasure. The qualitative improvement of the college is quite visible from the ever increasing organization of student-centric curricular, co-curricular, extra-curricular and interdisciplinary activities for the encouragementof the students to showcase their talents. Teachers, through these activities, exert themselves to inculcate in students the habit of developing futuristic vision, creativity, innovative ideas and nobility. This is how the college strives to live up to, its vision of ‘Making students Academically Excellent, Worldly wise and Globally Noble” and its mission of sparing no efforts to impart “excellent higher education to students for widening their horizons of knowledge”. The tradition of glorious success of the college is the result of a strong team-work of our dynamic visionary management, highly qualified and dedicated teaching staff, efficient and amiable college officials and co-operative and vigilant office-support.

The college has sketched a broad roadmap for meeting the future academic challenges and requirements of the future global academic scenario. The college had been striving , have been striving, and will ever be striving to scale new summits of academic progress, excellence and perfection.

Being the torch bearer of the academic culture, the college will ever be a flagship and lighthouse for those new developing colleges which are located in the rural areas. Our persistent and consistent striving for academic excellence is nothing but our humble heartfelt tribute and a modest gesture of respect and appreciation of the valiant efforts and sacrifices of the late Kumar Jaisinghrao Dhamdhere and the late Adv. Vishnupant Pingle, the young the great and the brave martyrs of this sacred soil.
