Bachelor of Arts (B.A)

The faculty of arts offers Bachelor of Arts degree of Savitribai Phule University, Pune the admission process for First year , Second year , and Third Year B.A. follows rules regulations and eligibility criteria set by the university.

First Year Bachelor of Arts (F. Y. B. A.)

Any candidate who has passed XII exam is eligible to get admitted in First year B.A. degree course.

Subjects:

Subject Selection:

Group A: Compulsory English
Group B: Optional English , Hindi
Group C: Marathi, Economics , Political Science, History, Geography
  • Group A is compulsory.
  • Group B Select any one subject.
  • Group C Select any four subjects.

Second Year Bachelor of Arts (S. Y. B. A.)

The candidate who has passed first year degree course has passed with A.T.K.T. For two subjects is eligible for admission in Second Year Bachelor of Arts degree course.

Subjects:

Group A: English Compulsory

Group B: English (Special I , Special II, General II, )
Political Science / Geography ( One subject out of these two is mandatory.) Similarly Marathi, Hindi, Economics, History, (One out of above four subject is mandatory)

Group C: Marathi (Special I , Special II, General II, )
Political Science and Geography (One out of these subjects is mandatory) Similarly Hindi, Economics, History, Optional English (One out of above four subject is mandatory)

Group D: Economics (Special I , Special II, General II, )
Political Science and Geography (One out of these subjects is mandatory) Similarly Hindi, Marathi, History, Optional English (One out of above four subject is mandatory)

Group E: History (Special I , Special II, General II, )
Political Science and Geography (One out of these subjects is mandatory) Similarly Hindi, Marathi, Economics, Optional English (One out of above four subject is mandatory)

Group F: Environmental Awareness six month course is mandatory

 

Rules:

  • English subject in group A is compulsory
  • One group out of B ,C,D,E, is mandatory
  • Environmental Awareness is a mandatory course

Third year Bachelor of Arts (T. Y. B. A.)

The candidate who has passed S.Y.B.A. Course or has passed with A.T.K.T. for two subjects is eligible for admission in T.Y.B.A. Course. But he/She was pass all subjects in F. Y. B. A.

The subjects selected in the S.Y.B.A. Course are mandatory for T.Y.B.A. Course hence the subjects of S.Y.B.A. are carried forward without any change for T.Y.B.A. degree course.
